Gothenburg Cancer Meeting 2019 - The Sahlgrenska Cancer Center hosted the first Gothenburg Cancer Meeting, giving an opportunity to meet local cancer researchers. Two days conference covering topics from basic and translational research to clinical research in both oral and poster presentations. Read more here.
Big congratulations to Hannah, who got a Poster award for her work ”The role of Biniou and Bagpipe transcription factors in Alk signaling during Drosophila embryogenesis”.
Hallberg/Palmer Brain-Storming Retreat - Varberg
Our first retreat together with Bengt Hallberg lab. Two days getting to know everyone in our corridor and the techniques they are using.
Time to start fruitful collaborations!
And one more year we all gather together around Christmas table. Toast for a New Year full of exciting science!!
Knut och Alice Wallenbergs Stiftelse - Happy to announce that our project in collaboration with groups at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg and at Karonlinska Institutet recieved a generous funding!

Cellular signalling and cancer therapy - EMBO workshop
Four days of inspiring talks in the beautiful Cavtat (Croatia).
Summerburst at Hallberg/Palmer - Celebration of published papers and reviews
"It's just another day for you and me in the lab"
Great news for the beggining of the year! Here is the result of our collaboration with Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard lab in our search for ALK ligands among different organisms.
It's Chrismas time and that means "Julbord"! But we also took the chance to visit the Christmast market at Liseberg and even write our list of wishes (Önskelista) to hand it personally to Santa 😉. Wish you all a Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁

10thNetwork for Neuroblastoma and CNS tumor research in children (NBCNS) Research Meeting, Uppsala (Nov6th–7th, 2017)
Two days of amazing talks from scientists and clinicians regarding neuroblastoma diagnose, tumor characterization and treatments.
Cover story in Science Signaling Journal! - The scaffolding protein Cnk binds to the receptor tyrosine kinase Alk to promote visceral founder cell specification in Drosophila.
A good ending for this long but exciting story. Congratulations Georg, Kathrin, Jesper and Fredrik!
It is always nice to combine research with a sunny time outdoors. This is an example of how we spend our time between incubation times during summer :)
2016/04/02 - Event
We all gathered together for a good cause: to "erradicate" childhood cancer. Spin of Hope is the largest spinning event arranged for the benefit of the Barncancerfonden.
Paper celebration: Brigatinib, an anaplastic lymphoma kinase inhibitor, abrogates activity and growth in ALK-positive neuroblastoma cells, Drosophila and mice. Congratulations Joachim, Kathrin and Haiying!
Paper celebration: Godzilla-dependent transcytosis promotes Wingless signalling in Drosophila wing imaginal discs. Congratulations Yasuo!
2016/03/31 - Award
Ruth Palmer was awarded the Göran Gustafsson prize in Molecular Biology "for her important discoveries about the function and regulation of an important tyrosine kinase that controls cellular signaling and development". The Göran Gustafsson award is given out every year within five subject fields.
